Need Money for the Holidays? Hobbies that cash in
So we are only days away from one of the biggest shopping holidays of the year. Christmas. Whether you need some extra cash for buying those nice presents, or just need extra cash fast this post may be a little helpful to you.
There are many ways to come up with some cash before the big day: part-time job, selling unwanted/ old (but nice) items online and maybe even crowdfunding (if that's your thing).
If those options aren't appealing to you, and you're trying to look for another way then here's a quick list of money making hobbies. Not to mention, if any of these hobbies are things you are already into then it's a solid win.
4 Hobbies that Can Make you Money Fast
- Driving: Now, me personally, I am not someone who likes driving around a lot. I do have friends though, who don't mind, and I guess you can call it a hobby for some people. If you love to drive around, then driving for Lyft or Uber may be the route for you. You have complete flexibility over your schedule, which is awesome. Once your application is completed and approved you can start driving right away. There are some things to keep in mind that can get your application denied however. That includes: Bad Driving Records, Lack of Insurance, and even a having a car that's too old.
- Knitting: This hobby is not just for little old ladies, so don't knock it until you try it. In fact, knitting has proven to also be therapeutic for people. If you're interested in learning how to knit you can find plenty of how-to videos on youtube. You can also even find guides on pinterest. If you are already knitting, then you can turn this hobby into cash! You can set up an online shop through platforms like Shopify, Etsy, Amazon and Ebay. The process is quick and simple and once you are setup you can start promoting your store to friends and families to start earning cash right away.
- Writing: I am actually new to this myself, but so far so good. If you like to write in your spare time, then you can use this hobby to make some cash this season. There are always contests and magazines looking to accept submissions, and these are usually paid. You can also go on freelance websites like Upwork and Fiverr and build up clientele through there. If you're interested in taking those routes, my advice is to check out the sites and see what services are being offered. You can gather ideas to better market your own that way. Other ways you can earn money through writing this season include publishing an e-book. Creating a blog on something you love and finding your audience is also another fast way to earn some cash.
- Photography: There are never too many photographers out there. In fact, one of my biggest lamentations is that there needs to be more! There is a variety of pictures that thousands of companies look for every single day. If you love taking pictures then this hobby can really make you some money. Plus with some of the features the newest cellphones have, they make it so easy to take some good quality photos. You can offer to do portraits for cash. You can also take random (yet moving) pictures that you can upload and sell to some of the online stock photo companies. They are always taking submissions, so make sure your photos are within their guidelines.
There are a lot of many different hobbies that are real money makers. However easy and quickly these can make you money, it still requires hard work.
