So it's a freebie weekend for me. Meaning: I decided to give myself a break from my normal weekend grind, and I'll binge watch some shows. I absolutely love so many genre's but this weekend, my focus genre will be British shows! I am actually a fan of many international genres, however my list for this particular genre is much longer. I'm aware that these shows will also fall within other genres, that is why I'm going to just do a general list for the main genre.

So here's a quick list of 7 British shows I will be picking to binge on this weekend and a brief description of them. If you are a fan of this genre and have a show favorite you didn't see on the list, then feel free to comment below! If you're a fan of what you see on the list comment and tell me what you love about the show or your favorite episode.

7  International Shows to Binge Watch this Weekend: BBC

Doctor Who: I mean seriously? A Time Lord traveling throughout the universe saving the world? You can't beat the amazing story lines, and action packed adventures of The Doctor as he hurtles through space in the Tardis. If you are interested "in the beyond" then this is one show that needs to be on your list.

Sherlock: If you are a fan of anything Sherlock Holmes, then you will absolutely enjoy watching Benedict Cumberbatch as the character. As well as the accompanying Dr. Watson. It is every bit as complex and riveting as the book and movies. Trust me on this one, you will not be disappointed in this show and before you know it, you will be binge watching.

Merlin: If you have ever loved the medieval time period but with a lot of magic then the story of a younger Merlin may be something you'd like. It's a charming family show about a Camelot that has banned sorcery. If you are a fan of Arthur and the story of Camelot, than you will really enjoy watching this show.

  • Downtown Abbey: The gorgeous and ostentatious Yorkshire mansion alone is one of the reasons I decided to watch this show. I am also a fan of period genre and this particular show occurs during the early 1900's, with the first episode taking place in 1912. I especially enjoy watching the dynamic between the family of the mansion and the people who work within. There are so many notable characters in this show, it's one you just have to watch for yourself. Not to mention our previous First Lady Michelle Obama, is also a major fan of the show.

  • Doc Martin: The irony of a surgeon who has a fear of blood moves the story in this show. In Doc Martin you get to know and warm up to Doc Martin, the new GP of the cornish village of Port Wen. I love the small island community feel, almost as much as it annoys me. You will also love the ever professional Doc Martin as well. There is also a bit of romance but you will have to watch for yourself to see how that plays out.

  • Atlantis: This show follows Jason, a man from the the modern world that is transported back to ancient Greece and his adventures there. Magic, Monsters and Muscles are probably my favorite parts of this show. But seriously, I love all of the mythologies and ancient Greek is at the top of my list.

  • Lark Rise to Candleford: So this a show with all the feels about two small towns Lark Rise and Candleford. In this show we meet Laura who is from Lark Rise, that gets a job in Candleford. Through her we get to know the residents and laugh and cry through their struggles and triumphs. ***I personally find it so quaint, and it always puts me in a good mood whenever I watch it.
