Chic Health: 3 Moves to Curb Unwanted Holiday Weight

As we barrel towards the end of the year, we are quickly approaching the last (MAJOR) holidays of the year: Thanksgiving and Christmas. During this time of year so much can happen that can affect our bodies and gaining weight. There is eating of course, but stress and even depression can also bring on some holiday weight gain. Here is my quick list of 3 things that you can do to curb some of those unwanted additions. 

  1. Exercise: I'm not a fitness person at all. In fact, I struggle with going to the gym consistently. If you're anything like me, you may not be jumping out of the bed and doing a full work-out routine. However, a 10 minute brisk walk actually burns 50 calories! Not much, but hey every little bit counts, and that's the bare minimum. Just think of how many you would burn if you used those 10 minutes to do some jumping jacks or jog instead. The choice is yours but 10 minutes of activity will definitely help you keep the pounds down.
  2. Watch What you Eat: No, I'm not saying drive yourself crazy attempting to count calories, simply pay attention to what you are eating. 
  3. Drink Tea: And no I am not talking about the popular tea being endorsed by all the other blogs. There are actually regular herbal teas (and spices) that you can use that can help you curb your appetite naturally. For example, Ginger Root is known not only for it's ability to relax the muscles of the intestines. It is also really good for reducing your appetite.  ***This is not something that I would recommend you add to your diet daily without consulting with your primary care doctor first though. I would also recommend that you do your research to find out what tea is the best one for you.
